Secure Random Password Generator
Generate strong, unbreakable passwords instantly. Customize length and character types, and check password strength to ensure maximum security for your accounts.
How It Works
1. Select Length Use the slider or the number input box to define how long your password should be. We recommend at least 12 characters for general accounts and 16+ for sensitive data (banking, email).
2. Choose Character Types Check the boxes for the characters you want to include:
- Uppercase & Lowercase: Adds letter variety.
- Numbers: Adds numerical complexity.
- Symbols: Adds special characters (!, @, #) which exponentially increases difficulty for hackers.
3. Apply Advanced Filters If you plan to write the password down or dictate it over the phone, check “Exclude Similar Characters.” This removes confusing pairs like the number 0 and the letter O, or the number 1 and the letter l.
4. Generate & Analyze Click “Generate Password.” The tool will create a random string and display it. The Strength Meter bar below the password will light up Green (Strong) or Red (Weak) based on the entropy of the result.
5. Copy Click the “Copy to Clipboard” button (or click directly on the password text) to copy it instantly for use.
Inputs
Slider/Number input for length (4-64), Checkboxes for character types (Upper, Lower, Number, Symbol), and Checkbox for excluding similar characters.
Output
Displays the generated password text, a visual color-coded strength bar (Weak/Moderate/Strong), and a text-based strength rating.
Tool Description
The Secure Random Password Generator is a cybersecurity tool designed to help you create robust login credentials. Weak passwords like "123456" or "password" are the leading cause of data breaches. This tool uses your browser's advanced cryptographic random number generator to build passwords that are mathematically difficult to crack. You can customize the length (up to 64 characters) and choose specific character sets (Uppercase, Lowercase, Numbers, Symbols). It also includes a "Strength Meter" to visually grade your password's complexity and an option to exclude ambiguous characters (like 'I' vs '1'), making the passwords easier to read if you need to type them manually.
